ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
INTRODUCTION
The Shakespeare’s Birthday Celebrations are a free event organised by
Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council. The “Celebrations” comprise a series of
processions led individually by marching bands with associated flag unfurling
throughout the Town Centre. The Event is on level ground around the town
where roads have been closed, giving easy access to pavements and all
areas.
PRE-ARRIVAL, PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Stratford-upon-Avon Park and Ride is located off Bishopton Lane near to the
roundabout with the A46 (T) and the A3400 Birmingham Road. It also gives
you access to Stratford-upon-Avon Parkway Railway Station. For sat-nav,
please use the postcode CV37 0RJ
Due to the town centre road closures, buses for Wood Street and Bridge
Street are diverted to Guild Street. Buses from the Alcester direction are
diverted from Wood Street to Rother Street.

BLUE BADGE ON-STREET PARKING BAYS have been suspended in:
Bridge Street, Chapel Lane, High Street, Sheep Street, Union Street,
Waterside.
BLUE BADGE PARKING in CAR PARKS AND ON STREET available at:
Arden Street, Bridgeway Multi-storey, Church Street, Henley Street, Guild
Street – rear of the library, Leisure Centre, Recreation Ground, Rother
Street NCP, Rother Street Civic Car, Park, Windsor Street.
Check signage to see if payment is required when displaying a blue badge
and the length of stay allowed.
Road closures should be removed by 1.30pm or earlier if safe to do so.
TAXI RANKS
The following ranks are suspended during the event:
Bridge Street, Union Street [apart from near Guild Street], Wood Street
The following ranks are available during the event:
Outside former Nat West Bank and some individual bays around town.
PUBLIC TOILETS
All District Council toilets are open during the event, which also have baby
change facilities and accessible toilets – which require a Radar key.
Avonbank, Bell Court Shopping Centre, Bridgeway car park, Ely Street –
male urinal, Waterside, Windsor Street car park.
